West Palm Beach is drawn long and low, with the buildings gathered into the left two-thirds and a bridge given the whole of the rest. Very little of the frame is occupied above the roofline.
What is in the drawing
A small low box opens the far left on its own. Slabs and blocks follow in a close group, one of them banded across the top and another notched, with a peaked shape among them. Then the bridge: two round arches springing from a pier, drawn low and wide with a straight deck over them. Past its far end two tall slabs rise together and close the line.
Who buys it
This sells to seasonal residents, so it moves from November onwards and is often bought to hang somewhere else entirely. The bridge is the crossing everybody makes to the island, which is why it carries more recognition than the towers.
Mug or canvas
The drawing is 2.812 to 1, so it circles a mug completely and sits shallow in the band with space above and below. Ink is 0.063. Long, low and lightly inked is the easiest thing to print small, so the mug works well. On a wall the proportion suits a wide gap, and the 36 by 24 is the size it was made for.
