Tallahassee opens on a single low pavilion sitting on a base that runs a long way out to the left, and the rest of the drawing is squarer and taller than that beginning suggests.
What is in the drawing
The pavilion comes first, a peaked roof over a wide low platform that stretches to the edge. Tall slabs follow, one notched, then a stepped block and a taller tower. The centre carries a low building with two curved roofs running side by side. Past it a tall slab rises with an angular cut taken out of its crown, and a long low block banded across its top closes the right.
Who buys it
This sells to the two universities and to the people who work in the capitol, and those buyers barely overlap. It moves in spring, and canvas outsells ceramic on it, which is not true of the other Florida drawings here.
Mug or canvas
Ink is 0.052, the least of these seven, because so much of the drawing is plain outline with nothing inside it. The frame runs 2.357 to 1 and a mug wraps it. Light and open prints well at any size, so ceramic gives up very little and the 18 by 12 canvas is enough for everything in it.
