Jacksonville is a river city and the drawing says so early. A bridge crosses the center on a run of shallow scallops, and the towers are arranged behind it rather than in front.
What is in the drawing
A tall thin spire opens the left, standing over a low block, with a gabled church and a second steeple beside it. The bridge crosses the center on a long arch scalloped along its underside, its deck running flat to the waterline. Behind and to the right the towers rise: a pointed roof over a pair of shafts, a taller slab with a flat top, and a narrow tower with a sharp crown. A colonnaded building stands low beneath them, and a stepped tower with a small cupola closes the right.

Jacksonville sells to people who are tired of Florida meaning theme parks and beaches to everybody else. The bridge is the local answer to that, and it is the first thing this drawing shows you.
