Springfield carries two monuments rather than one. A stepped capitol dome stands at the centre and a slender obelisk rises immediately to its right, close enough that they read as a pair.
What is in the drawing
A low scalloped front opens the left with tall slabs behind it, one of them carrying a flagpole. The capitol takes the centre, its dome climbing in stages to a fine finial above a front of three tall arches. The obelisk stands past it on a low base, narrow and plain. A slab with a curved crown closes the right.
Who buys it
The buyers are people in state government and visitors who came for the history, and the obelisk means more to the second group. It sells through the summer and around the February anniversary.
