Midland gives its whole left third to low buildings with sloping roofs, one of them stepping down like a staircase, and saves every tall thing for the centre and the right.
What is in the drawing
Wide low blocks with sloping roofs fill the left, and one of them descends in a series of square steps. Tall slabs rise through the centre, two of them carrying thin masts on their crowns. A building with a broad arched roof follows. The right closes on a pointed cap above a tower, with a small pyramid beside it.
Who buys it
This sells to oil families and to people who came for a two-year posting and stayed. It is bought as a leaving present as often as anything else, and it moves through the whole year.
Mug or canvas
Ink is 0.067, which is heavy, and the sloping roofs on the left carry most of it. Measuring 2.600 to 1, the drawing goes right round a mug. The masts are the thinnest strokes in it and the first to vanish at small sizes, so if those matter, take 24 by 16 on canvas.
