Boise ends on terrain. The capitol takes the centre as you would expect, and then the drawing runs out into a low range of peaks instead of finishing on a building.

What is in the drawing

A low block with a battlemented top opens the left, a small pitched roof beside it and squared openings along its foot. The ground stays low for a while, stepping through plain boxes. The capitol then rises at the centre: a ribbed dome under a pointed finial, set on a drum above a long colonnaded wing that runs out to either side as a single horizontal line. A notched slab stands to the right of it, taller than the wings but well below the dome, and the last third of the drawing is given over to a range of jagged peaks running down to the base.

Who buys it

Boise is bought by people who moved there and by people annoyed that everyone else moved there. Both want the mountains in it, which is why this drawing works where a downtown-only version would not, and it suits a large format for that reason.

Mug or canvas

Coverage here is a very light 0.043, and the width runs 2.252 to 1. Sparse and wide is the friendliest combination for a small print, so nothing forces a canvas on legibility grounds. What might is the mountain range: it is a long passage of fine zigzag and it is the part that turns into a grey line first. At 24 by 16 the peaks separate properly.
