Havana is drawn as a row of towers with layered, tapering caps, and a domed capitol sitting lower than all of them in the middle. Nothing in it is plain.
What is in the drawing
A tall memorial opens the far left, narrow and stepped, standing on a wide low base. A tower with a tiered cap follows, then a long roof drawn as a run of soft waves. Another tiered tower rises past that. The capitol takes the centre, a dome on a drum under a small lantern above a long colonnade scalloped along its front. Two heavy towers close the right, the taller one finished with a pointed cap.
Who buys it
Two audiences buy this and they rarely overlap: people whose families left, and people who visited once and have talked about it since. It moves as a gift more than for the buyer.
