Miami's skyline is newer than most of the ones this store sells and it shows in the drawing. Almost nothing here has a spire, so the line works in tapers and crowns instead.
What is in the drawing
It begins at the water with a low stepped run along the port, rises through a slim tower carrying a mast, and then opens out into the tapered high-rises that fill the middle of the bayfront. One tower breaks the pattern: a rounded collar near its top with a fine spire above it. Past a stepped crown and a twin-peaked tower the line flattens across a wide block with arched openings and a notched roofline, then finishes on an angular building with a swept roof at the right edge.
Who buys it
This one goes in two directions. Somebody who spent a winter escaping somewhere colder, and somebody whose family arrived in the city and stayed. The second reason is the one that wants a wall rather than a shelf.
Mug or canvas
This drawing is wider than the band a mug can print, so width rather than height decides how large it lands there. On a wall that same width turns into the advantage: the stepped port at one end and the angular roof at the other sit a long way apart, with the tapered towers strung between them, and the bayfront reads left to right in one pass.
