Brno gives its centre to a single wide building with a low hipped roof and one small dome sitting on the ridge, and it takes up more width than the churches at either side of it.
What is in the drawing
Low blocks with scalloped fronts open the left beneath a church with spiky towers. The wide building follows, its roof sloping down on all sides from a long ridge with the small dome set into it. A spired tower stands past it. A cathedral rises beyond, two spires and a dome above tiers of arcading. Two plain slabs close the right.
Who buys it
Students and the engineering trade split this one between them, and a fair number leave the country as gifts. It moves through the year rather than in a season.
Mug or canvas
Ink is 0.070 and the arcading under the cathedral holds a good part of it. The frame is 2.254 to 1 so a mug wraps this. The wide roof is drawn with long clean strokes that reduce well, and it is the arcades rather than the roof that argue for the 24 by 16 canvas.
