Auckland is dominated by one tower with a swelling near its top and a long thin needle above that, and the drawing arranges everything else around its foot.
What is in the drawing
Slabs open the left, one scored with a zigzag down its whole face and another finished with a rounded cap. The tower rises at the centre, slim, widening into a pod and tapering again into a needle that reaches well above every roofline. More slabs follow, one capped like a mushroom. A shallow arched roof runs low past them, and a long arcaded building with a small domed turret closes the right.
