Chapel Hill is drawn at the height of its buildings rather than at the height of a skyline, and exactly one thing breaks that rule. Everything else stays close to the ground line.
What is in the drawing
A small domed rotunda sits directly on the ground at the far left, no taller than the halls beside it. A long building follows with tall openings cut down its front. The bell tower rises from the middle, narrow and plain under a pointed cap, standing on a base only a few strokes high. Arcaded halls run past it, and a building with a shallow dome over a columned porch closes the right.
Who buys it
Graduates buy this and so do parents, though not for the same reason. It moves in May and again in August, and the tower is what people look for first.
Mug or canvas
This is narrow enough that a mug centres it rather than wrapping it: 1.972 to 1 sits under the 2.14 threshold, so it prints as a panel with the handle clear. Ink is 0.070, which is high, and nearly all of it sits in the arcades. Repeated openings are the first marks to close up when reduced, so 24 by 16 on canvas is where they stay separate.
