Sacramento is the only California city in this catalog with a state capitol in it, and the dome is placed near the right edge rather than in the middle, which is unusual for a capital.
What is in the drawing
A tower with a stepped crown rising to a point opens the left, and around it stands a cluster of slabs with notched and squared tops, close enough to overlap. A narrow wedge-topped tower follows, then a low block. The middle carries a small pointed spire above a wide building with a scalloped strip along its foot, and a sloped roof to one side. Behind it a tall tower rises under a smoothly rounded crown, with a low dome at its foot. The capitol comes next, its ribbed dome and lantern set over a long colonnaded wing, and a broad slab with a cut-out base closes the right.
Who buys it
Sacramento is a working-capital purchase: legislative staff, state agencies, people who spent a career in that building. It also sells to families who moved out of the Bay Area for a house with a garden, and for them it is a new-home present rather than a backward-looking one.
