What is in the drawing
Small blocks with scalloped fronts and a pitched roof open the left at ankle height. Then the tower that everybody recognises, a squared shaft with two sharp spires rising from its shoulders, drawn taller than anything else and set well to the left where it has room. A flat-topped slab and a round-capped tower follow. At the center a church spire stands on its own over a wide pitched roof, the arches beneath it drawn as a row of loops. Past it a tower flares outward into a broad crown, then the line falls to a long low roof that sweeps and dips across the right of the picture. A heavy block with a rounded top closes the far edge.
Who buys it
Nashville is bought for the weekend far more than for the residency. Somebody's thirtieth, a bachelorette that took over three bars, a first trip to hear music in the room it was written in. The mug is the one that goes in the suitcase and the canvas is what a couple who moved there buys once the boxes are unpacked.
Mug or canvas
This drawing is wider than the mug's printable band, so the two ends sit apart on the wrap and you turn it to get from the horned tower to the long roof. Some people like that and some do not, which is the honest answer. What settles it for a wall is the right-hand third: the sweeping roof and the flared crown are slow shapes that need room, and at 30 by 20 they stop being outlines and start being architecture.
