Toledo is an ordinary run of towers interrupted by one strange shape, a spray of sharp points spreading above a low arched building. Nothing else in the catalog looks like it.
What is in the drawing
The left opens on a low front of small arches under a flat roof, with a slim tower beside it capped plainly. Slabs ruled with vertical bands climb through the center, the tallest stepping back once near its top and the rest squared off. A block with a peaked roof and a stepped neighbour carry the line onward. Then the burst: a fan of straight sharp points radiating upward from a low pavilion fronted by a row of shallow arches. The right closes on a church with a pointed steeple and a gabled roof set with small pinnacles.
Who buys it
Toledo sells on glass, and the buyer usually knows why. This is a museum town, and the piece goes home with whoever does the driving when guests arrive. It also does steady work as a leaving gift for anyone moving out along the lake.
Mug or canvas
Narrow for this range at 1.938 to 1, which leaves visible ground at each end of a mug rather than a closed wrap. Coverage of 0.055 is light. The spiked burst is the detail that decides it: those points are thin, straight and close together, and at 11oz they collapse into a smudge that reads as a blot rather than a shape. Anything from 18 by 12 upward keeps them separate.
